Explore Idyllwild
Idyllwild is located in the San Jacinto mountains west of Palm Springs, east of Hemet. At an elevation of 5000 feet the air is clean, the skies blue and night stars gloriously visible. The town is set among tall pines and sweet smelling cedars.
The town maintains a small town atmosphere, supporting local artists and craftsman who supply the many shops with beautiful and unique items. Many restaurants employ local musicians to perform live in the afternoons and evenings, adding to the relaxing ambience.
Many annual events support this art community from our film festival, a legendary jazz festival, many art event weekends, and plays and performances at the Idyllwild Arts Academy.
For those more interested in quiet and nature there are a wealth of hiking opportunities--long trails to shorter, easier walks within Idyllwild Park. Add to that camping, bicycling and rock climbing for experiences that will have you coming back season after season, year after year.
